Our mission is
to improve the quality of drinking water by developing new
technology to clean water mains. The Typhoon jetting system
marries engineering know how from the oil and gas industries to
a team with over 30 year’s experience in the UK water industry.
A subsidiary of
Kilbride Industrial Services, Hydrascan’s tethered pig
technology can be used with equipment already widely used
throughout the water industry, requires little training and less
support infrastructure than current systems.
Offering
impeccable cleaning results, Typhoon offers a longer range than
any other system in use, cleans around bends and up to valve
faces from a single point of access.
Crucially, this
single point of access significantly reduces the cost and time
taken on cleaning projects, making it ideal for use in urban
environments as well as more rural locations.
Current ‘pigging
and swabbing’ solutions require a substantial amount of plant,
equipment and operatives on site, require access to both ends of
the pipe, is slow and yields only average cleaning results.
The Typhoon
system was developed in response to a challenge set by
Northumbrian Water for an efficient means of cleaning the larger
trunk mains as part of its four-year £30 million mains cleaning
programme.
The scheme will
improve drinking water quality to 500,000 people in South East
Northumberland, North Tyneside and the North of Newcastle.
